Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set forth the conditions for using Channel Blocker ("the App") provided by Goldilocks, K.K. ("we" or "the Company") between the Company and users of the App ("Users").

Article 2 (Agreement to Terms)

By downloading or using the App, Users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. Those who do not agree to these Terms may not use the App.

Article 3 (Eligibility)

The App may only be used by persons aged 13 or older. Use of the App by persons under 13 is prohibited.

Article 4 (Account)

Users may create an account using Sign in with Apple.

  • Users are obligated to keep their account information accurate and up to date
  • Users may not allow third parties to use their account, or lend, transfer, or sell their account
  • Users shall immediately report to the Company if they discover unauthorized use of their account or any security issues
  • Users may not use usernames (handles) that violate public order and morals, that may cause confusion with third parties such as company names, brand names, celebrity names, or government agency names, that impersonate the Company or service operators, or that the Company otherwise deems inappropriate
  • The Company may reserve certain usernames for the Company or third parties for service operation purposes
  • The Company may change usernames without prior notice if it determines that the preceding two items apply, or if it deems such change necessary at its discretion. In such cases, the Company shall not provide any compensation for such changes

Article 5 (App Description)

The App is a content blocker that hides YouTube channels from Safari feeds.

  • The App is not an official product of YouTube, Google LLC, or their affiliates, and has no relationship with these companies
  • The Company may change, add, or discontinue features of the App without prior notice

Article 6 (Subscription)

The App offers free features as well as paid Premium subscriptions (monthly and annual plans).

  • Subscription fees are charged to the App Store account linked to the User's Apple ID
  • Current pricing can be found on the App's page in the App Store
  • Subscriptions automatically renew under the same plan unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • Renewal charges are billed within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period

Article 7 (Cancellation)

To cancel a subscription, go to Settings on your iPhone, tap your Apple ID, then tap Subscriptions.

  • After cancellation, Premium features remain available until the end of the current billing period
  • No prorated refunds are provided for mid-period cancellations

Article 8 (Free Trial)

The Company may offer free trials to new users.

  • If a subscription is purchased during a free trial, any unused trial period is forfeited
  • Free trial terms may be changed or terminated at the Company's discretion without prior notice

Article 9 (Refunds)

Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are subject to Apple Inc.'s refund policy. Users seeking refunds must apply directly to Apple Inc.

Article 10 (Account Deletion)

Users may delete their account and withdraw from the service through the App's settings.

  • Upon withdrawal, the User's account information and block lists will be deleted. However, previously published lists may continue to be available
  • Users with active subscriptions must cancel their subscription before withdrawing. Account deletion does not automatically cancel subscriptions

Article 11 (User Content)

Users may publish and share block lists they create in the App with other users. Users are solely responsible for all content they publish.

Publishing the following types of content is prohibited. The Company may delete content it determines falls under these categories without prior notice.

  • Content that violates laws or regulations
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties
  • Content that violates public order and morals
  • Other content deemed inappropriate by the Company

Article 12 (Prohibited Activities)

Users shall not engage in the following activities when using the App:

  • Copying, modifying, reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the App
  • Using the App for illegal activities or activities that promote illegal conduct
  • Harassment, defamation, threats, or other nuisance behavior toward other users or third parties
  • Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with the App's security features
  • Creating accounts using false information
  • Interfering with the operation of the App
  • Infringing on the rights of the Company or third parties
  • Other activities deemed inappropriate by the Company

Article 13 (Intellectual Property)

All copyrights, trademark rights, and other intellectual property rights in the App and its content, features, and design belong to the Company. The license to use the App under these Terms does not constitute a transfer or license of the Company's intellectual property rights in the App.

Article 14 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," and the Company makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The Company does not warrant the following:

  • That the App will operate without interruption or error
  • That changes to YouTube's specifications or other factors will not affect the App's functionality
  • That the App will work on all devices or OS versions
  • The accuracy or reliability of results obtained through use of the App

Article 15 (Limitation of Liability)

The Company shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company. Even if the Company is liable for damages, such liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the User to the Company. These provisions shall be subject to applicable mandatory laws, including the Consumer Contract Act.

Article 16 (Service Changes and Termination)

The Company may change, suspend, or terminate all or part of the App without prior notice. The Company shall not be liable for any damages caused to Users by such measures.

Article 17 (Changes to Terms)

The Company may change these Terms without User consent when such changes are in the general interest of Users, or when such changes are reasonable in light of the necessity of the change and appropriateness of the revised content. When changing these Terms, the Company shall notify Users of the revised Terms and effective date with reasonable advance notice through in-app notifications or other appropriate means. If Users continue to use the App after the effective date, they shall be deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.

Article 18 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

Article 19 (Severability)

If any provision or part thereof of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining portion of such provision and all other provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
